Editor's review of AVI Splitter:
Enormous video files can be be a hassle
to use, even with the fastest computers.
AVI Splitter is a simple tool for
splitting AVI-format video files into
several pieces for easy handling. The
software is very basic, simply prompting
a user to locate a file, and asking how
many pieces it should be split into. It
does display how long each segment will
be as a result of the split. If you're
looking solely for the ability to split
AVI files, rather than edit or transform
the video in any way, this may be the
software for you.
How
to split/cut/trim an AVI file:
1.
Download AVI Splitter, install it on
your computer, then run the program.
2.
Clicking "Open AVI" ,
select an AVI file on your computer.
3.
Select the split mode:
-
If
you want to split the AVI file into
2 segments, choose the item, drag
the slide bar, the output size will
change.

4.
Enter the output directory, or use the
"Browse" button to select a folder.
5. Press the "Start" button
to
begin Splitting avi.
Note: The
program may not cut file size precisely.
The reason is that it does not
decode and encode avi file. So it can
not determine the exact trimmed file
size. If you want to split the avi file
precisely by time,
Open
Video Converter can do it. But the
conversion speed is slower than Avi
Splitter because it recompresses the avi
file.
